The Story of KeepTabs

From a successful blog to a lost Slack workspace, from being underweight to a life-changing transformation,to the realization that we shouldn't have to chase our dreams alone.

The Journey to KeepTabs

From personal struggle to shared solution

The Data Problem

As engineers running SaharaHacker, we tracked everything - code commits, user metrics, revenue. But when it came to personal goals? We relied on scattered Slack messages and informal check-ins. When I lost access to years of goal conversations, I realized we were solving the wrong problem. Goals need systems, not just good intentions.

The Accountability Formula

When I decided to gain 9KG in 3 months, we accidentally created the perfect system: clear milestones, daily check-ins, distributed responsibilities, and automatic escalation when someone missed updates. The result? 100% goal completion and a replicable methodology.

Pattern Recognition

The fitness success wasn't a fluke. I started advising friends using the same framework and saw consistent results. The pattern was clear: structured accountability with intelligent escalation beats willpower every time. What seemed like a personal challenge was actually an engineering problem.

System Validation

I tested the methodology on bigger goals - reading Napoleon Hill's principles, public commitment strategies, creating forcing functions. Each iteration proved the same thesis: goals succeed when there's a system that won't let you quit, not just people cheering you on.

Engineering the Solution

After seeing peers manually coordinate accountability groups, I knew we could automate the successful parts and eliminate the friction. KeepTabs isn't just another goal app, it's the first system that intelligently escalates support when you need it most. We built the accountability system we wished existed.
